an individual or group to make a lasting impression on those in need. From Friday,
October 2nd to Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, thousands of volunteers will selflessly give
to not-for-profit agencies by volunteering their time and talent during the 10th Annual
Gwinnett Great Days of Service.
Everyone can get involved in Great Days of Service; youth, businesses, seniors and
individuals can collaborate to make a difference where we all live, work and play.
Examples of projects are canned food drives for homebound seniors, landscaping and
painting projects at local schools and spending time reading books to children.
Last year over 200 projects were completed within a two- day period. It is estimated that
at least 80,000 volunteers are needed to complete this year’s projects. Larger items, such
as building materials, landscaping or donation and planting of trees are needed for the
vast range of projects.
